Five days a week she cleans bathrooms and collects garbage bags from bear-safe deposit boxes. During a fire she does radio-comminations for fire-fighting teams. When she is unavailable, I do the bathrooms. It's not a bother, but it is an example of how the Forest Service is a widely interconnected system. Many things are connected to something else one way or another. Musk knows this. He's an engineer. He knows that you can't just pull parts out of a functioning system. He's not fighting waste, he's attacking government and wrapping it in pretense.
And yet, people voted in the Orange Cheeto knowing full well this was the game plan.
For anyone in the Oregon backwoods (or any other typically-flammable American backwoods) and who is dependent on timely wildfire identification and suppression, if you’ve voted for the leopards-eating-faces-party, don’t be shocked when a leopard eats _your_ face.
